{posted on “formerly known as social” channel when feeling a little overwhelmed with life, illness and impact on my usual torrential pace of communication & maintaining 400 conversations at once like a digital Neal Cassady – stashing here due to my obsessiveness regarding archiving personal archeology}
Not really 100% apathy…
However can’t stay up with the conversations – as such, my periodic reminder to say:
“I care about you yet find myself incapable of epheneral communications beyond occasional coffee shop postcards and random voice chitchats via various telephonic schemes”
A lot going on with me physically, mentally, emotionally. Truth is, just barely holding on.
Some notable annotations:
Several visitors (completely awesome!)
Ryoko staying busy with all her eclectic and amazing projects (singing with Mae Maes, tea ceremony, making charcoal, perma-culturing her land, studying for “tree doctor” exam)
Ichiro is more brilliant and handsome daily (using knives, playing with fire, goofing on his push bike, and planning logistics for his birthday party)
R’s parents staying wonderfully healthy & busy with table tennis, ground golf, grass cutting, shogi, and helping out with transportation for doctors visits (me) and preschool pick ups (Stanley).
+ did a wonderful service with hosting brother Bob Olson and goat farmer Mac Kobayashi – funny thing is: this was only the third time in 33 years the three of us got to hang out together.
Somehow there was also a day trip Shodoshima (which gave so many flashbacks of the Salish Sea Islands except with fantastic ferry service).
Asked for some blessings that a special Buddhist templw and from Yokai (spirit creatures who dwell on both sides) & R visited a very significant 1300 year old ginkgo tree – hooray for these islands revitalizing through art and community! Thanks Ayumi-san for welcoming us.
Watched some Canucks hockey, by myself via ipad, drinking tea/coffee – even provided some punditry about the forthcoming Utah franchise.
We’ve got another house project coming up but I’m so tired even even thinking about it right now. It will be a quiet room, dark, cool and calm… With a Dutch door and an awning which will remind me of Olympia, Greece.
Yes, they’re various diary entries about some of these things in process but you know, I’m still working on things from decades ago #PersonalArcheology
I’ll be OK-ish, yet felt important to say hello and offer unneeded pardons not to being more chitchatty – ya know: chiming in to tell you that “you’re awesome, admired and valuable to the world at large.”
