Advocate (a noun, a verb and a zine)

Anyhooooo, working on the next poetry zine in the “daveo dispatches” series

Details are Joy

Analog love – every detail critical, each one hand finished, stamped and numbered

Not cheap but certainly precious

every bit of material, each stanza of poetry, the backstory behind each snapshot are only partially revealed, a puzzle that might stretch over decades

This eight page delight will be a short run (42 copies) and listed as number 2 of the “daveo dispatch” series: hand finished, stamped, cut and folded and numbered ~~ following “Misasa Sojourn” {of which there are two or three first printings remaining, plan to send to Nick Bantock or Gary Snyder or Andrew et al at Arts Island Center on Naoshima}

keep yer tools sharp & paper tactile

Will prob do a second printing of Misasa at some point but want to set up a little storefront which pays in yen, no hassles, no nonsense, simple as have so many art pieces to vend and frankly I need to get a little bit of ¥$€£ flow going :|

Rub-On Publishing

Improvising like McCoy Tyner

Who amongst us has used these kind of rub off letters – aka Letraset – for creative projects?

Did you make church bulletins? Fanzines? Cub Scout newsletter? Lost cat flyers?

These letter sets date from the 70s, possibly 80s and in pretty rough shape but deserve all the tender care to fulfill their ultimate purpose, purposefully rubbed with an oversized dull pencil taken from the Kennedy school some decades ago

Archive the process

[I filmed an ambient video of doing some of the work so one of these days it might float out to keep you company… I really like videos where there’s no action, not a lot of commotion, just calm vibes… Especially when I’m feeling a little bit down in Blue And even music or another insipid chattering faux documentary is all too much]
