Creative Projects of sorts (iow, a few other things since I’m here)
- we’re still working on finishing up the “caboose” new construction project – the magnificent earth wall and various plastering is basically complete, a few tiles yet to go at the coffee corner and some hooks for lanterns and mugs
- kaidandansu (movable staircase with drawers) is in place, needs a few tuneups but this will hold my medication stash bedside as well as some possibly charming accessories (Taisho-era vibes hooray)
- did you catch my “bus blossoms diary” video? hope so, here was my very fancy studio set up for the music: borrowed Ichiro’s lil drum kit, plugged ukulele into Ryoko’s vocal amp – recorded six tracks of vox, drums, uke & smash’d together to make something which captures the fuzz and commotion in my delicate head
- anyhow, call me sometime (i’ve got a Japan phone number yet my secret Arcata California phone number is in crisis due to Skype shutting down… oh noes!)
PS Did I tell you made a little poetry chapbook dispatch zine? I want to send several/many/lots out but finding myself a little bit pressed for extra ¥$€£ for stamps, paper and printer ink… but heaven help me, don’t wanna set up some storefront, I’m so disenchanted with the Internets :(
Maybe people can just mail various bank notes violating postal and currency transfer regulations… oh my goodness, I’m just gonna get myself red-listed – oooops
{but really, do i just continue to mail my items out and ask folks to “pay it forward” to keep me making my projects without bankrupting myself? I feel so awkward even saying this so hopefully no one’s reading but spent $3000 more or less (Canadian dollars) on printing, paper, stamps and ink last year with an income of about $11,000 so while I’m not economist, reckon not sustainable, yet (almost) nothing thrills me more than sending things out into the world – and no “digitalproducts” nor Patreon/Substack/Etsy/blah blah blah hold no allure for me}
Your thoughts and opinions are truly welcome ~ this kind of stuff used to feel so easy to me but now it just makes my head ache but then again my head always aches
