While these snapshots are hardly exemplary, someone once asked me about my new scissors purchased at “The Papery” in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, sprung 2023
The answer to the inquiry is “Design Works Ink” made in Nashville, Tennessee, USA
seeing the noble tool resting on top of a typewriter in the window and knowing they *must be mine*, the heavy steel construction, the hand fit, and the adorable paper tag hanging off which I can’t bring myself to snip off
So I’m not sure on which channel somebody asked “what brand are these? And so on” but I hope this post finds you
Partially inherited from my mother, I have a penchant for great scissors – honed from decades of arts and crafts project – Indeed, there are many scissors around the house and several of them are great, and it seems the great ones all share a similar style of simplicity, sturdiness and unassuming ergonomic hand fit
{no doubt other scissors are documented throughout this archive but you’re very clever so if you want, you will find – you see, traveling by small rucksack replete with scrapbook kit in tow, I repeatedly had scissors & lovely pocket knives confiscated (i try to remember!) so end up buying a “cheap n cheerful” temporary set in many countries which only exist in snapshots as I gifted them down the line}
