While working in the “postcard as a service” and modified foreign passport industry, i don’t do many Zoom(tm)/etc calls but if i did, i’d use these photos from trains and capsules as backgrounds. And, yes feel very amused.
Sharing these in the event you find them amusing and want to use as a backdrop for your next video service conversation. As long as you are amused.
Project: Upon turning 50 years old on August 16, 2020, Dave Olson (me, hello) is posting a photo (or maybe photos) a day / per year – starting with 1970 with intent of chronicling existence through various primary evidence sourced from studio portraits, class photos, ID / passport photos, or occasionally other “casual/group/random” shots when the above don’t exist in my archive (note: not “artificial intelligence,” really me, pulled from shoeboxes, journals, wallets and whatnot – diligently scanned and dated via glasses and haircuts, lightly annotated).
Upon arriving at Kansai (KIX) airport, i immediately went to post office, konbini (for onigiri, pocari and royal tea), then a photo booth – also sushi. The following lousy photos will verify these claims.
A lil video in which i provide semi-useful instructions for riding trains (specifically from Kansai /KIX airport to Okayama), buying tickets, redeeming JR Rail Pass and getting to platform… as well as mispronounce various words, stumble through “advice”, share poorly-made photos, and in general provide a vaguely amusing – if not entirely useful – primer.
Note: made for guests coming to DRO420 wedding festivities
A few handy annotations for pals coming to Ryoko and my wedding about what to do when you arrive at Kansai/Osaka (KIX) airport including: getting cash, finding food, hitting up toilet and a few other fun oddities up until you get to the train station (more on that later).
Note: originally created for friends coming to #DRO420 wedding festivities, 2019
