Tsuchida Yard and Garden – Japan Cottage Musings

With Ichiro strapped on whilst outdoors, Dave and some dodgy camera work walk around the yard and gardens of our home in Okayama, Japan. Stops include: picnic area(s), Ryoko’s tool shed, location of upcoming house addition, various wood piles, bamboo grove, Mother’s vegetable garden, the kura grain barn turned art studio and (of course) a persimmon tree.

Appearances by father Takeshi, Ryoko of course, and the neighbour lady stops by to see the cutest baby.

Tsuchida Yard and Garden: Kei-truck with shelf project

Diary: Sort-ganizing the Naya (tool shed) at Tsuchida Cottage

Me and fantastically adorable & very pregnant wifey (who is playing piano and singing as I write this) working on the daily – getting stuff done before the kiddo comes.

today was another session out in the “naya” garage/toolshed – the hq for Ryoko’s arborist business “Kimone”

…we are organizing all the tools with various hooks and ladders and boxes and shelves.

The building is fantastic old style construction with high ceilings, wooden beams, thick mud walls.

Massive job but getting there / its a race vs baby Ichiro!

Note: Outside in the carport – where the K truck lives – we have bags of different landscaping supplies and a few hundred plant pots to sort too / consider this a “note to self”. We’re getting there, really really really.

Update / details:  did it!

Memo: hooks ordered via major online reseller, bins from ¥100 store, project done for very little outlay of cash.
