Bagpipers and Cougars on Robbie Burns Day in Vancouver

A bit of dark and chaotic footage from a bar in Westside of Vancouver where a young piper works through a number while being attacked by a drunken cougar on Robbie Burns day.

Snippet: R. Burns, Highland Mary, 1792

A fave from the highland bard:  Highland Mary, 1792

O pale, pale now, those rosy lips,
I aft hae kiss’d sae fondly!
And clos’d for aye, the sparkling glance
That dwalt on me sae kindly!
And mouldering now in silent dust,
That heart that lo’ed me dearly!
But still within my bosom’s core
Shall live my Highland Mary.

Robert Burns Poetry and Feast Night 2008 – Urban Vancouver #6

Snippets from a Robbie (Rabbie) Burns Night fest in Vancouver, BC on Feb. 09, 2008 at the Scottish Cultural Centre, celebrating the great renegade Scottish poet Robert Burns. The recordings include lectures, laughs, bagpipes, many toasts, various poem readings and tribute to a haggis.

Audio jumps around a wee bit but enjoy the moments nevertheless.
