We’re coming for a low-key summer trip, mostly posting up at Grammy’s house in Langley (land of mystery)
Fantastically, Ryoko’s mother Junko is with us for the first 10 days for her first Vancouver/Canada/trans Pacific experience
This trip is mostly hanging out with Grammy and low-key mellow activities south of the Fraser: think berry picking, forts, yet to be visited green spaces, figuring out what’s on Barston Island, and hopefully frequent dips in pools and ocean, oh and grilling a salmon and finding oysters
Unlike 2023 #BCInvasion, we’re not roving far ~ no sea planes, boats, endless neighborhood exploration nor daily video gazette, map pins, magnificent meet ups and monitoring multiple channels, however we love humans, especially you and if we’re able to meet up, great however the future is unwritten and the present is an unfinished poem
A few things planned however:
July 17 afternoon > evening at North Van shipyards (this is also soccer fan zone so not sure, we plan to throw a sarong in a picnic table and eat food trucks and dig sunset)
July 29 evening at planetarium (this is a ticketed event where Dave will return to stage to share stories for the first time in 13 years, gulp)
August 15, 16, 17 Inn at the Quay in New West (evidently a whole new Boardwalk, markets, tiki bar, hammocks, playgrounds, #UW56 will feature sitting on a bench drinking coffee and croissant, possibly in pajamas, come sit on a bench)
August 23 at PNE with Guess Who (obviously a ticketed event, but we’re going to see uncle Randy rock out as well as super dogs, pig races and hunky Bill’s pierogies)
if you wanna meet up, be in touch, doing my best, we’ll write postcards
[context: details fuzzy because life is fuzzy me (Dave) in and out of hospital and returning for a rather unique but hopefully beneficial inpatient procedure immediately upon return so doctors orders to keep it chill, so much shouldn’t be going but that’s another story “you buy the ticket you take the ride” after all]
