Cash Only, Please – A Hospital Dayfall

As this has become my accidental diary:

I had a bit of a rough go of it at the hospital yesterday… I arrived repaired with my memorandum, notes and having a simple ¥500 breakfast at a quirky kissaten, checked in and got my injections and a consult with my doctor – who has be become increasingly overworked as she’s become a bit of a champion and as such being pulled between various hospitals as this whole epidemic of post viral illnesses (about which there has been more or less zero progress in the five years since the onset of the virus which no longer needs a name… And oddly, my illness MECFS falls under the same auto immune autonomic nervous system blah blah blah)

Anyhow, I got my injections, had my consult and then at the billing desk, (i see this doctor now at a privately run hospital and although it’s paid for by the public insurance, I have to pay some costs upfront for this oxygen machine used to increase blood flow to the brain), the cost was more than i had had brought cash, and yes, this hospital only takes cash…

So thought was strong enough to walk to a post office with a bank machine but all the sunlight, traffic noise and commotion and the stress of it all completely spun me out, I almost fainted… I made it back to the hospital, paid the bill, they took my polls, brought me some water as I wanted to lay down

Anyway kind of went downhill from there but I was smart enough after these foolish errors of walking to call a cab to get to the pharmacy and to lunch

I got some food (the friendly proprietor was also concerned about me and asked to walk me to the bus stop), the sweet young lady at the pharmacy was gracious and welcoming and helped me while I sat down on a chair – then somehow I was onto a bus and then another bus and stumbled in home, sat in a hot bath for a few hours to try to switch to my parasympathetic nervous system and then have been in bed for the last 15 hours

Medication, hydration, protein, teas of all kinds

Trying to pull my brain together and say some things out loud to get the dopamine going

Oh a good idea! maybe I can find that “forgotten Churchill movie” – not the Gary Oldman one which is great in its own way, and not that first season of “the crown” which I really like much more the subsequence seasons but rather the one where he spent much of the time walking on the beach talking to himself… maybe on some channel to watch

I like my filmed entertainment low stimulation visually but intellectually engaging and slow moving overall, snappy costumes, sets and sniffers of brandy and cigar smoke do hold some aesthetic appeal if not functional

Oh, here it is, and there you are, aren’t you?

{Pardon the sloppy disintermediated nature of these notes, if I don’t write it down somewhere… It’s ceases to exist somehow and I’m running out of places to put items}
