Day out with Ichiro for preschool birthday and and Ramen

A recursive image, fadey hazy reflection of myself as seen through the eyes of my son and through the rugged semi vintage camera my wife took to Siberia and Indonesia in the “pre-Dave” years

{went to Ichiro’s preschool for the monthly birthday round up event, only three kids in June, he cuddled on my lap (rare), we did the songs, the teachers made a spectacular card like really spectacular / we bugged out early on a rainy day as he’s had a little bit of a cold and fever but didn’t wanna miss the event (he gets temperature checked every day, don’t worry) and we hopped the tramway and got the best coolest tram, will top three anyway with tables and trays at each set of chairs – like I wanted to buy a day pass and just ride back-and-forth writing postcards the whole way
He snapped photos of the tables, out the windows, the stop button and then captured me, with one squeeze of the shutter, in full cheese mode but being so happy that I was doing my best to be a good papa

We went to eat the best Ramen at the place where he figured out he’s been there between 50 and 80 times if you count the times when he was still inside mama, and then went to seitai treatment where, while I was on the mat with the doctor, he hung out in the side room playing with Lego blocks and examining all the artifacts of the “Olson family museum” on display with postcards, paintings and zine
Yeah there’s a couple more snapshots but I’m in bed, no capacity to get out of bed right now… & Yeah I get too busy and then I crash and burn and *I know I shouldn’t but I do because when I’m feeling all right I wanna do all of the things all at once* but hey here I am in a hazy camera with a perfect snap of a cheesy pose by my spectacular son who is almost 5 years old on the 23rd
