on the way to hanami by bus

we’re on an awsum quest via bus to a sakura blossom picnic

pink for Sakura, yellow for sun, green for matcha

kitted out with rucksacks, tote bags, tasty bread & meat etc, matcha tools, and ground sheet like little expeditioners

big rain last night, today cloudy/sunny/muggy no kimono but coordinated outfit seasonally

me and my sweetie, check that tea bowl with the kintsugi (photo by David M)

{Irrelevant sidenote: there was meant to be an “international community Meetup” event but it was canceled/postpone due to weather warning. I don’t really know or mingle much with the erstwhile international community in the area yet thought it would be a chance to make a few friends at once…

However we carried on and met up with a group including a couple of awesome school moms and Ichiro’s classmates and the other David from Vancouver not to be confused with Dave sort of from Vancouver and the spectacular Miho]

awesome beautiful Miho-san indulged me with trying on my set of fake mustaches along with cool kid Joe… Also cool kid Ichiro was too cool for the mustaches or was it not cool enough?

possibly some snapshots to follow however I didn’t take snapshots (update: snapshots now included)

i played “go camp” card game as a gift from recent visitors, i brought a collection of fake mustaches to distribute to the children with limited success, and shared some various concoctions including kiwi compote, persimmon vinegar and probably something else I made, and we brought along bread from the sensational Alsace baker from “Beck” quite close to our neighborhood}

And look at this beautiful bit of terrace we got… Just far enough away from all the booths and noise and chaos with a stellar view of the garden and castle. Photo by David M

thanks for snaps from David from Vancouver/Hudson Valley
