*Sixty Tests Later* with crispy pajamas & ukulele “album cover”

Hospitals are so helpful!

I think got album cover art for my “grateful dad” ukulele jams with Ichiro & Ryoko

(Yes, I’m pretty when I smile)

Previously:

Okayama University Hospital

3 mighty vials of blood drawn for 20+ tests

20 min. MRI (spine/shoulders/hips)

12 or so x-rays (same as above)

2 bevs, 1 sweet pajama change, 1 postcard mailed, few rest stops & snacks + admin check in/out

2 1/2 hours all in, awsum service <3

It was like a obstacle hide and go seek circuit around hospital / each department has own check-in procedure, all quick but different + confirming name and birthdate everywhere of course and doing it all in Japanese & no one batted an eye that I am a weirdo beardo foreigner

Not only was the MRI quick tech, the staff was exceptionally efficient and machine was as comfortable as they could make it with a solid/soft head brace, leg support and ear covers (on top of my custom moulded earplugs) plus those sweet sweet pajamas that I really wanted

{Made of that crispy-ish cotton that holds it’s wrinkle free flatness but without being overly soft or nappy, the tiniest hint of a plaid pattern fully understated, lightly drawstring waist, 7/8 length, jimbei style top with the double ties with a tiny bit of a winged collar}

to top it off, all results including x-rays, and complete rundown of blood tests (which were way more than 20 test i thought, once sorted through all the results, is at least 60 different markers checked… All delivered to an app within 18 hours of the tests

Later:

Spent much of day sorting a pile of paperwork that comes with being a chronic complex patient with loads of appointments, sorting into:

  • Upcoming appts
  • Referrals
  • Records / memos from previous appts
  • Lab tests/results
  • Prescription manifests
  • Receipts
  • Pain Logs

PS for sake of the record obv everything, 100% is in Japanese & while I’m comfortably conversational, reading is weak point in general & certainly medical terms are beyond my skills so this is when all those “newfangled robot assistance” tools are really coming in handy
