The foot still aches a little bit from the break last August but I’m getting better at dealing with my apprehension about going down stairs – while government buildings and newer facilities I’m more mobility challenged friendly, definitely old places are not, stairs is narrow and steep with shallow tread and sometimes a dodgy banister so I whisper to myself “slowly Dave, slowly”
Related: so many of the best places to hide / hang out in Japan aren’t at street level or on a main shopping in plain site, those places are for folks who enjoy commotion or passing through, the treats are often stacked on top of each other, sometimes full of mystery and can cause another kind of apprehension about “what’s gonna be behind the door” which is kind of fun isn’t it, isn’t it?
