Chilly Morning, Hot Springs Echo – Okayama Resettling

Back with my darlings in Sunny Okayama… Hard to believe that I was stuck in the snow 24 hours ago before this chilly morning snapshot…

My son tells me to wear a necktie and a belt so who am I to argue? It up with a vintage leather hockey jacket, a Triby hat, some patched up trousers and an argyle sweater cardigan… Yeah I know it sounds weird but it all works, trust me ha ha

Anyway, we went to the library, it’s colossal yet we managed to check out approximately 7% of the entire total of the library, well maybe slightly less but either way, maxed out three library cards

Then a visit to seitai treatment – today’s a holiday in Japan of some kind so it was a bit busy there so not a lot of extra consultation time but still, good treatment preparing me for Thursday’s visit with the traditional Chinese medicine doctor at the Okayama University hospital

Then, some other errands like dropping off bottles at the sake shop left over from the christmas situation, presenting off an estimate to one of wife’s potential clients, and then over to give mother-in-law birthday presents and special gifts to say “thanks for helping out while I was gone to the Hot Springs” – she loved her custom engraved Sailor brand (from Hiroshima) fountain pen as she is a fantastic Shodo artist and has lovely handwriting

We also discussed hanko stamps and possible kanji combinations for our family name O-ru-so-n

My two darlings are in the bath, I washed & folded so much laundry, refreshed up the front room and kitchen, and my suitcase arrived from the Hot Springs in a very rapid timeframe (I traveled light on the hopscotch train and bus trip with just a ukulele and my old time suitcase shipping the big suitcase which also had my mini pantry supplies and various robes and yukata, pjs etc) – very reasonable cost, exceptionally fast service and was even delivered after hours, like 7 PM as though no big deal

Very happy to be home with incredible wife and rambunctious son but there’s always that “did it really happen?” spin out when trips are finished and in this case, really wondering about the overall impact long-term on my health… Especially if the combination of the radon soaking baths, drinking water and gas inhalation along with some dietary nuance and the “hot/cold” treatments will jumpstart mitochondria action and cellular recovery and immune system strengthening

One way or another, I did it so that something not to mention existing for all that time alone and completely in Japanese in a town with snowflakes rolling down the street like tumbleweeds, a lack of services causing logistical concerns about nutrition, not necessarily the most friendly and cozy situation, and the general travel conundrum

So we go on, I just wonder what “on” means sometimes

Have more to do to clean up my errant digital life and eager to get “back to the barn” for some creative projects while at the same time, getting ready for a string of three different groups of guests coming in the next month
