Walls have been plastered, embedded with bits of charcoal, leaves, bark and other natural details, the tile is in around much of the sink backsplash (waiting for some ceramic shards from Kumamoto to do a mosaic in around the faucets)
Still needs grouting on the tiles and caulking around the sink
Then we put the kaidandansu (a movable stairs cupboard) on its gum-wood base which then gets latched to the wall for safety purposes (don’t say the word earthquake out loud…)
A bit of tidying up to odds and ends that are found their way in there but making plans to move the sewing machine/craft table into its new station, some stacking bins of sewing notions, scraps of cloth and items needing repair next to it
Then the big project of disassembling bed frames and moving through the “train cars” of our house around some tricky corners and reassembling in place, connecting electric wires for various lights and accessories, and then sliding the mattresses through the maze
Good news is: the blinds (one translucent and one transparent) are installed, the heat pump/air conditioner is in, and with the insulation in the room, the room heats up quickly and stays warm, and I anticipate the same effect with cooling down the room in impending summer months
In case you missed it: were 100% solar power at our compound
