Diary: Garden sprouting, yard evolving, rocks to move (still)…

Since we planted this patch of garden a week or two back, rain fell a few times in between stretches of sun so the lil seeds are sprouting up!

Ryoko keeps a diary about the garden with all the details, however for documentary evidence, i took a few snaps while we were outside strolling the grounds…

Komastsuna, a Japanese mustard green coming up in splendid lil rows…

The various pots of herbs are hanging out, ready to sprout but only hints so far…

The bamboo forest behind the house provides tasty bamboo shoots and hides wild boar who occasionally rampage the garden (hence, no sweet potatoes!)

We have an outdoor washing machine for grubby clothes, gloves and rags. Ryoko inspects with her cute preggo dress…

The compost station needs a little love next time we are outside working. The 2 plastic bins are full of food scraps happily decomposing…

The peach tree (gift from the city for our wedding) is shifting from bright pink blossoms to green leaves…

These logs (some of them, the correct ones) will soon host shiitake mushroom spores… #onthelist

Still some rocks to move but you can see some ground where fruit trees will be planted. The saplings are looking a bit tired and really want a new home…

Some of the boulders have settled into place making a picnic area around the big plum tree.

We’ll keep ya posted on the the above projects and you can track the progress from previous diary posts of course.
