hand-embroidered “uncle weed” shirt

Perhaps you’ve seen my hand embroidered “uncle weed” T-shirt. It was made by a lovely lady in Japan circa 1987 and I only wear on special occasions due to its fragility — well over 20 years old now and showing it’s wear, quite like me.

Yesterday, my brother Bob Olson visited the lovely lady who made it all those years ago in Kure, Japan.

Very grateful for this.

Also: worth noting that now that traditional hemp culture is re-awakening in Japan, the shirt, is a powerful reminder to me of the wonders slow, positive change. Patience and time are our allies.
