We’re getting really close on the “caboose” room
Heat pump/air conditioner went in yesterday (with the outside condenser – is that what you call it? – outside around the corner so it doesn’t interrupt the beautiful charcoal cypress wall vibes)
Another coat on the Earth wall including a special feature element made from bamboo charcoal, fired in an barrel right next to the room // the “wall sandwich” is: hemp, bamboo, soil and straw, charcoal
Other walls have sheep wool insulation and proper wood (tongue and groove pine flooring) for pleasant vibes – with just a bit of sheet rock in parts of the toilet and craft corner, both soon to be covered with natural plaster
The flooring is all mixed match hardwood (non-laminate) including oak, chestnut, sakura and another dark fruit which I can’t remember

There is also a several hundred year old tree salvage from a shrine inside of the house, and gumwood for coffee sink counters and base for an antique movable stair cabinet
The theme/concept was: cozy, natural, and resourceful – hitting the marks
And like all projects, it takes a little bit longer and cost a little bit more (we have been very resourceful in sourcing materials) but will turn out to be slightly different and likely better better than we could’ve possibly schemed
