Near Pe ELL, Washington
Such an interesting slice of Japanese Vancouver history (of which there is so much!). Reminds of a cemetery i came across in forgotten rural washington (near Pe ELL) – apparently, Japanese folks came there to work at lumber mills in early 1900s and were in demand as workers as they would work on Sundays but ostracized by other cultures. This burial site holds many secrets and memories.
Presented here with commentary except acknowledgment of the intrepid people who voyage across the Pacific to start a new life and somehow, their graves are rarely tidied. If you happen, please let incense and pour a bit of water on top
