observations, in a reverse order if you are noting chronologies:
Yesterday, a spark of independence
Simple as it was, as it is
Riding a bus
A chitchat with a doctor about baseball
Then, a coffee shop/art gallery "where have you been?" he asked…
"Well, let me tell you…"
purchased 5 postcards, ¥100 each
all feels so familiar, so far
My bed mates
The small one who snores
The sweet one with the seasonal sneeze
Up early-ish
Wearing black T-shirts
Whisking, cleaning
David Byrne plays on
Flipping field guide of mushrooms
One brings coffee for
Me the insomniac
Who wishes to watch ice hockey
And fold laundry
Walking home
Last bus stop
(two too far)
Walking stick clanking
along
Dark laneways
Smells of bathtimes
From quiet houses
with
Blue tiled roofs
While crickets call
"Everyone goes home in October" says ole Jack safe in heaven dead
In a country with seemingly endless transportation options, I'm waiting an hour on a hard bench for a bus during the busiest transportation time of the day while dude on the sup'd Harley backfiring and revving with a baked-in stereo cranking pop songs rolls by – me and the guy with the smoke both chuckle, exchange eye rolls

coming out of the doctors appointment for my busted foot at the hospital just a few minutes ago, have a long wait for the bus so I popped into a konbini and picked up a club sandwich, marked down to ¥298 on regular white bread, the crust cut off, and enjoyed the heck out of it – I took a photo, unglamorous and everything + a hot lemon tea... now i wait wait wait... oh it is a wee bit chilly (i think about woodstove fires)

Who doesn’t match their hat with their slacks? {Kicking… well not actually kicking}, in the hospital waiting room that’s a support brace under the sock (which, obviously does not match the outfit)… X-rays done, waiting for chitchat with the doc // then a bus ride home

Hey wow, two months after the incident, foot xrays looking good, both bones mostly healed wear the brace until the end of October, can increase walking, keeping it slow, stretching the foot mostly “out of the woods” and healing up well… Hooray!
a while, a couple of months and more, since rolling on the bus, by myself, off to medical appointments without hitchin a ride with Ryoko-san weather still deciding whether it’s summer or autumn however, i switched to long trousers and matching hat anyway

{from a topic with more to say but may or may not remember to tell ya}
Layers upon layers upon layers
Charcoal'd Cypress
Hemp insulation
Bamboo lattice
Mud and straw
Now we wait
Then more mud and straw
Then we wait
Lime plaster finish
Then then we live in there
