Healing: (very brief) memo from MECFS check-in at Oka-Dai

(while world continues to meltdown in various ways) just finished another multidisciplinary visit to Okayama University Hospital including extended consult with TCM doctor, IV drip of a new pharmacological cocktail, and consult with #MECFS specialist.

Also discussed the terrible pain and impact from the air pressure changes during typhoons, turns out this is very common with people in my situation. Received an “emergency prescription“ for this scenario.

Extended: Neurotropin is main ingredient in cocktail mentioned above (along with vitamin C, and anti-dizziness agent and others) and quite positive impact / also now taking “ketas” (generally used for bronchial asthma), off-label to increase blood flow to brain. Also, lengthy and pleasant consult with traditional Chinese medicine doctor resulted in a new compound of magic powder.

Note to self: provide other Sciency name for ketas, and Chinese name for new compound.

As previous, took a long and memo of notes to be respectful of their time and not to forget anything.

I gave her a book of poetry from Muriel’s Journey “Fire from the Heart” (plus a printed copy of the great article recently in the Atlantic magazine) and my gift was reciprocated by a fantastic book/magazine (in Japan, sometimes these are called “mook”) edited by my doctor with a variety of articles, essays, manga style adaptions and what not about MECFS. I’m really quite amazed to be in this program and to be this “seen”.

I think you are the best thing since sliced bread , Abu Ichiro. I just HAD to read up on these cause I never heard of them ! Ibudilast is the sciency name of the Ketas molecule. Strange they branded it so close to the root word of Ketamine, a horse tranquilizer that’s commonly abused so it’s controversial as an antidepressant and pain drug in medicine… because it’s not related. Nonetheless , it sounds wondrous ! The other thing , Neurotropin, has no sciency name because it’s not really understood, it’s basically a liquid that’s left when they take rabbits infected with the pox then give them a shot of vaccinia virus to treat it which inflames their skin , then they skin them and squeeze out all the impurities, kind of like extra virgin cold pressed olive oil , but hey , it works. Just quiets down the constant buzzing electric pain signals coming from your nerve endings. Personally I think it’s diabolically working by giving you a continuous infection of your pain-crying neurons with a new less dangerous virus ongoingly so your body gets used to it and there’s no more ports to hide in for the worse neuroinvasive HHV/EBV etc that wakes up every so often and triggers your perfectly super awesome epic immune system doing it’s job attacking that there. Vitamin C in the cocktail is actually amazing and under appreciated. It’ll kill off any rogue viruses replicating in the bloodstream where they don’t belong, usually infecting new cells. So you’ll have also the advantage of some cancer protection from this treatment.

    1. A few things: as it goes, sliced bread was not popular when it first was released as a product for people to get accustomed to that level of awesome convenience. Maybe the same for me :-)

Yes that’s the right name for Ketas / The trade name makes me think of Kitas which is the resident visa status in Indonesia. hadn’t equated it to ketamine – which is getting a attention as “fancy psychedelic integrated therapy multidisciplinary approaches“ have become a business model.

The whole thing about the rabbit and the parks is all very baffling and a little disconcerting as we have a little rabbit here at the house and I want to leave his cells intact and bloodstream in his bloodstream. Definitely yes that the whole weird tingling buzzing “maybe I’m being poisoned but I’m just not sure“ feeling is reduced from fingertips and what not… It’s creating a little bit of a vacation for the pain but I’m not sure at what cost now with your comment.

Hooray for vitamin C, besides the IV, I use this regularly throughout the day as well as coenzyme 10.

Next I have to figure out the proper name for current traditional Chinese medicine compound besides the designated number “91“. The numbers are handy because I remember by hockey players.
