Diary: always on repeat, bus to seitai, postcards and coffee, ramen with darlings

Rushed to bus to seitai so now posting a “timestamp” photo to show that I’m at seitai (& my fluffy hair is full of static electricity) Dec. 1, 14:20

My favorite flowers in the seitai office entryway, maybe I forgot to mention but my thoughtful wife bought me similar on the anniversary of my mom’s passing.

Really, few things I’d rather do/places to be than in a cozy quirky coffee shop, scribbling postcards to friends never met… some months since yet here I am! ~ out of the cold, Mandheling Indonesian coffee, several pens and inky & postal stamps #swoon #Postcards #Stamps oh, this is “Gloss Gallery and Café” – I made a special postcard for the master and invited him over to hang out and listen to records and drink coffee sometime.

A bit spun out from seitai treatment but so nice to see people out and about in the chilly streets wearing their snappy winter outfits.

Meanwhile I look like Holden Caulfield after he “moved west, acted like a mute working at a gas station” with my red wool hat with the ear flaps down. (Catcher in the rye is on my mind with the Sotheby’s auction).

Sometimes Japan actually looks like it’s part of Asia :-)

My darlings picked me up from quirky coffee shop – ramen doesn’t open till six so we killed time on shotengai // I don’t know, it felt different, maybe first time in years with festive decorations, music, food stands, a little bit of liveliness!

We saw dinosaurs, got takoyaki, yakked on phone, tested benches, & bought onsen bath salts + postcards.

Then my courageous assistant helped put 3 postcards into the mailbox wormhole. Two international, one domestic.

Then, Friday night Ramen at the best place in the world #Seriously

(You will likely be unsurprised to learn) Ryoko did her first paid wreath making workshop with 4 or 5 neighbor ladies – lots of preparation and a bit of nerves and she’s been running on fumes these last few weeks so a bit wiped out. Was happy to see her get some good broth into her.

She’s going to do a couple more before the end of the year.

You know where, yeah ya do #secret

“No more photos!” says possibly the world’s most photogenic dude #io K, bai
