Reminder: planning, finishing up and do the basics

This week: no scheduled hospital visits, wife super busy with work, so… trying to catch up, finish a few tasks as well as keep the house rolling as we stumble towards end of year

The “basics” means manage laundry, keep up on dishes, make tea and rice, prepare hot bath, and light a fire as needed.

And if feeling all right (plus get medications, nutrition – my weak point – and oxygen into me) i can do some creative project and/or make a phone call or two.

As for “holidays” this year canceled my usual family and friends Christmas dinner party cause I just don’t got the energy but, we still will be doing new year cards (300), presents for Ichiro of course (he wants a trumpet and/or a bulldozer, not a toy bulldozer, one he can drive around… Not sure which one is less probable), and will decorate a tree, make hot chocolate on the woodstove, sing some songs etc. (One good thing about Christmas in Japan is there’s a lot less expectation around the whole dealio).

Plus Ryoko has a special Tea ceremony scheduled, a Mae Maes band rehearsal here at Tsuchida Cottage. and we will go to the YMCA preschool church service, and I am doing my method-acting Santa Claus engagement on December 7 (with all my requested precautions and routines explain carefully).

So all of those things are plenty enough especially with Ryoko’s job workload.

As for New Year’s, told mother-in-law that really I don’t care about watching TV programs and eating the fancy osechi food this year and would rather no one made any fuss about me and I can spend my time catching up on scrapbooks.

Meanwhile, today:

Probably did too much yesterday, lousy sleep = spun out this morning, hitting some oxygen and coffee, then decide:

  1. Do bare minimum (dishes, laundry, rice, tea)
  2. Get a haircut and maybe a phone call or two
  3. Go to barn studio and start tidying up (still a mess since BC)

Update: Just got up for a minute and saw the dishes definitely need doing (I’ve got an easy routine) and I enjoy folding laundry in bed, plus tea & rice have at least the basics ready for when darlings come home + It’s quite chilly out today too so I need to make sure they can get warmed up as soon as arrive

Furthermore: called Larry sensei for a long overdue catch up, my medications arrived but I didn’t sort out yet, got another proof ready for the new year card but haven’t pulled the trigger on the order yet, made a pot of chili-esque stew + bath washed, dishes & laundry, rice, tea, fire.

Super spun out from at all but hey, maybe tonight I’ll get some sleep?
