Grateful to those of you who gave me a place to sleep, a hug, answered the phone, rescued me, put up with me, let me send you postcards, reminded me of important things, told me I was useful, etc. in this past year.
May our gentle friendship revolution continue in perpetuity.
While in “a redneck Brigadoon” Pe Ell visiting Hemp Ed, a healing me (dave) offers up New Year’s Day musings including encouragement for taking yourself beyond comfort zone and creating your finest work and digging into your essential self in 2014 while lounging in pyjamas and smoking robe.
Topics include: long saunas, exorcising demons, positivity, figuring oneself out, growing, evolving, reinventing, reflections on 2013, stories, notebook making, digging into archives, camaraderie of friends & co-workers, reflections of SXSW, sickness, gratitude, sharing sparks, plus Jamaica schemes of goat herding, banana porridge, and positivity, and personal revolutions to evolve yourself.
And a few reflections of what makes my core of arts and crafts which i’ll send out in exchange for your continued support and affection.
Shortly after New Year’s Day, Uncle Weed recounts highlights from the passing year including a surprising visit with bong-toting ice fishermen on a frozen neighborhood lake, plus recaps on concerts, spreading messages to media and youth, voting often, speaking out, supporting soldiers and peaceniks, resisting cynicism, researching the painter Varley, publishing literature, sparking coverage of Olympics, making a board game, gallery visits, riding the new SeaBus, remembering ole dead gramps, drinking stout and earl grey tea, and the joys of treading on thin ice.
