Here we are, clicking things to prove our affection for one another on another platform yet again, haven’t we done this a dozen times already?
And, because no one’s seeing my “hot cakes” and instead looking at hottakes, one acquaintance has mistaken Japan for a theme park because – according to a source, everywhere had long lines at the attractions (yeah, temples, shrines, castles are attractions)
sidenote: you spend thousands of dollars to take a trip but you don’t spend two hours doing some research and learning that there’s the whole rest of Japan – outside of those 3+ cities that you’ve heard of – provinces earnestly and eagerly awaiting tourists with castles, shrines, gardens, and stellar museums, and participatory experiences ready to welcome you?
Anyhow, with construction disassembly going on outside, hydrating with coffee and with a lot on my mind about the current wave of Internet diaspora, expressing my frustrations that: X is not the spot, sky is another shade of blue, i like my needles pulling threads, don’t need another prehistoric format, or another loud disco… I just wanna have some conversations – and I suppose unfortunately for me in this context, I have a very long attention span
As such: how about sending me a fax? Long, slow, noisy and warm – crackle crackle bzz beeep
& postcards always are always accepted (have you tried signing up for @postcrossing?) as are telegrams (the kind delivered by a chap in a cap, not the app)
After all, (paraphrasing “the kinks”) we are not strangers, we are one
I’ll follow you wherever you go // but keep your expectations in check because I don’t need to click a button to show you I probably, definitely, maybe, sort of, likely like you, right?
(of course my full postal address, all the places where I have accounts on the Internet and laborious “field notes” from around Japan exist at the usual creative life archive but you haven’t read this far so you’ll never see it, and remain strangers after all
Ahhh just fax me instead // put your schemes on a scroll, send it long and slow… as im disenchanted and uninclined about clicking on the buttons just prove *i like you* (cause definitely probably certainly likely do)postcards and telegrams (delivered by a chap in a cap, not the app) also accepted
