Diary: Coffee with views plus Ramen and painting preview

In today’s (really March 7th but hey…) edition of “tasty coffee in scenic places with Daveo” I bring you this glorious handcrafted bevvie experience & view of the Seto-nai-kai (Inland sea) from an olive garden (no, not that one, an actual one) in Setouchi, Okayama, ergo:

grinder with a view

elegant workstation

served with affection

resulting in a beauty

and a brownie

all the little islands and all the big cups

each island hiding stories in plain site

By the way, we were in Setouchi for an art exhibit by a fine young gent from Slovakia via Paris and en route to Sri Lanka, Michal Korman. More to say about him with loads more photos coming in another update but, in the meantime, here’s a snap of us exchanging art gifts and…

…the normal Japanese gathering commemorative group photo, a tradition i LOVE. a wonderfully eclectic group of folks all gathered on a Saturday to enjoy international art and music.

Why yes, we do eat the very best Ramen available anywhere on this or any other planet / I guess I will tell you the secret Gakucho Men-ya in Okayama near Symphony Hall.

Today was special spring vegetable mix for Ryoko & a curry vibe for me + side of absurdly great pork. Of course Mac Kobayashi turned me on to the holy place.

Evidence follows:

Whatcha think?
